Her Entrepreneur Journey

Dolores was born and raised in Argentina, where she went to business school, and came to the U.S. at 25 years old. She spent many years finding her own path, and even helped build one of the first online learning platforms for teenagers in the late 1990’s. In the early 2000’s she became a “mompreneur” and she kept pursuing this quest of learning more about business and watching an idea come to life.

Dolores started learning about coaching and ended up launching a coaching business soon after. She would help people realize their dream, but then figured out that she wanted to work with them on the strategy to build that dream too, so she expanded her company into what it is today, Masters in Clarity, where she helps people get a clear understanding of what they want to pursue and the strategies they need to implement to do it.

What do you mean by crafting an audience experience?

We forget when we’re speaking that we’re in service of one person who might get something of value from the conversation. You’re taking people on a journey, which means there’s a feeling experience that happens when people are listening. The more you lean into that, the more you can intentionally design that reaction to get people to feel curious, empowered, safe, or any other emotion you want them to experience. The way we present our message takes them on an emotional experience that hopefully will be a catalyst to add value to their life.

Asking questions to your audience reminds them that you're showing up in service to them.

What are some things we can do to intentionally design that experience?

Start by meeting the audience where they are. You need to verbalize and communicate what your audience is already thinking. Obviously this means that you need to know your audience. Start this process by asking your audience a question that resonates with them. For example, if you’re talking to entrepreneurs who want to grow their business, I might ask “how clear are you in your message” or “do you need more clients.” This is a way of saying to your audience “I’m here in service of you.” You have to captivate their attention right from the beginning - don’t waste their time introducing yourself and with pleasantries. It’s about being in your audience’s shoes as much as possible.

How can we use storytelling and case studies in this process?

Once you’ve got their attention and you’ve properly introduced yourself and your topic, you want to deliver the information. The best way to do this is showing instead of just telling. You do this through case studies, by showing examples of the transformation. People like to see the before and after of how an experience will change things.
